The College Natural Goes to Italy?

Hey guys and gals! Long time no chat. This semester has been a whirlwind of emotions, papers, meetings, interviews, and just life in general so I apologize for my lack of posts. However, I'm back with a vengeance to document my action-packed summer and last year as a college student. There are a lot of exciting things that are about to happen. Quick little update on what has happened this semester:

  • I applied through and interviewed with Teach for America (I find out my final status on May 7)
  • I finished up my last year as a Peer Advising Leader for Emerging Leaders
  • I took possibly the most vigorous class schedule that I've had so far in college
  • I was elected president of the Communication Studies Association for the 2015-16 academic year
  • I very recently started attending church more often
  • & last but not least, I finalized my plans to study abroad this summer
Yes, you read that last bullet point correctly. I am studying abroad this summer for three whole weeks! I will be leaving for Italy on May 13 and staying until June 6. While there I will be taking a class on social media at the Florence University of the Arts. I also have three weekends to travel and go on mini adventures and day trips around Europe.

Of course I want to take all of you along with me so that we can all share this adventure. So take this as my official return to the blogging life (Hold your applause please). Yesterday was the beginning of my three-weeks-till-Italy countdown. In these next three weeks I will be buying a lot of stuff, learning more about the Italian culture, finishing up my semester, turning 21, and having mini anxiety attacks about the idea of being on a plane for the first time ever.

I want to blog the entire experience from top to bottom and side to side. That means I'm counting on you guys to hold me accountable. If you're here from Facebook and you haven't seen me posting, shoot me a message. If you're here from Instagram, comment on one of my pictures. Because in the words of Kevin Hart: It's about to go down.

Smooches,
The College Natural

P.S. Here are some pictures of my day of hiking yesterday. [We didn't know it was Earth day until we got to the top of the mountain]
